Preheat the oven to 200?C (180?C fan). Roll out the pastry on a clean, floured surface to create a rectangle roughly 40cm by 26cm, and then cut in half length-ways so you have two long pieces of pastry.
Mix together the sausage meat, cheese and Hot Date Chutney, then shape into two long sausages that you can place down the centre of each long piece of pastry.
Brush one long edge of each piece of pastry with a little beaten egg, and then fold the pastry over the sausage meat and press the edges together to seal. Cut each long sausage roll into 12 little sausage rolls.
Brush each roll with beaten egg and sprinkle with poppy seeds, then bake on a lightly greased baking sheet for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
